Yes, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate really did offer a 30-day Disney+ trial—but it was a limited-time promotion announced on November 9, 2020, and it expired in 2021. It was not a permanent Disney+ benefit or access included with every Game Pass plan.
What the promotion included
Microsoft announced the Disney+ trial as an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk. Eligible members could claim a one-time 30-day trial of Disney+, the streaming service featuring Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic content. The Perk provided temporary access to the separate subscription service; it did not add Disney+ to the Game Pass catalog or give members permanent access to its programming. Microsoft’s November 9, 2020 announcement set out the offer and its terms.
Who could claim it?
The promotion was for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members who met Disney+’s eligibility conditions. Being an Ultimate member alone was not enough.
- New Disney+ subscribers only: People who had previously subscribed to Disney+ did not qualify.
- At least 18 years old: Microsoft’s terms specified a minimum age of 18.
- One offer per account: The offer was limited to one per account.
- Selected territories: Listed markets included Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Availability in the U.S. did not mean the offer was available worldwide.
The promotion was subject to the Disney+ Subscriber Agreement.

When did the offer expire?
There were two separate deadlines: members had to claim the Perk by January 31, 2021, and redeem it by March 2, 2021. Claiming and redeeming were distinct steps, so claiming before the first deadline did not remove the second. Both dates have passed; the offer is expired.
How redemption worked at the time
Contemporaneous coverage reported that members could find the Perk in the Xbox console’s Perks Gallery or in the Xbox Game Pass mobile app for iOS or Android, then follow the offer to Disney+ to activate the trial. These are historical instructions, not a current redemption path: the promotion ended in 2021, and Xbox menus or app behavior may have changed since then. Gaming Instincts’ contemporaneous report described the access route.

The trial renewed automatically unless canceled
Microsoft’s announcement said Disney+ would automatically renew after the 30-day trial at the then-current monthly price unless the subscriber canceled. That price was the one in effect at the time of the offer, not a current price. Anyone who activated the historical trial and did not want a paid subscription afterward needed to cancel before the renewal date shown in their Disney+ account. The account’s renewal information was the practical reference for the individual billing date.

This specific Disney+ Perk cannot be claimed or redeemed now. Old articles and cached pages may still describe how to find it, but they do not make the expired offer available again. You can check the current Xbox Perks catalog for other offers, without assuming Disney+ is included, or visit Disney+ directly if streaming is what you want. Consider Game Pass Ultimate for its gaming benefits, not as a way to obtain this expired trial.
