R. Roach, sexually abused her when she was 10 years old. She has also criticized her mother in an interview with The Daily Progress. These are Kelley’s allegations. Reporting confirms that Roach has a registry entry for a guilty plea in an earlier case, but none of the coverage independently establishes what happened to Kelley.
What Grace Kelley alleges
Kelley made the allegation in an interview with The Daily Progress. That interview was not directly accessible for this article, so the account below comes from how The Independent and Us Weekly reported it. Kelley says the alleged abuse occurred when she was 10. The reporting cited here does not add further detail about what she describes, and no outside finding has confirmed her account.

Who D. R. Roach is, according to the registry
The Independent reports that Roach is listed as an active offender on the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. As described in that reporting, the entry records a guilty plea to criminal attempt to commit aggravated sexual battery, with an offense date of February 1, 2007. The registry did not publicly identify the victim.
That detail matters. The registry entry establishes Roach’s plea; it does not name Kelley or anyone else as the victim, and this article does not treat it as doing so. The reporting does not independently link the plea to Kelley’s account. Readers who want the entry itself should check the Tennessee registry directly, since the registry page was not accessible for this article and the details above come from The Independent’s reporting.

How the family responded, in Kelley’s account
Kelley has described a sequence of events following her disclosure:
- After she disclosed what happened, the family went to counseling.
- When the abuse became known in counseling, the family said it would report it to law enforcement.
- Her mother divorced Roach after he was arrested and the news became public.
These are Kelley’s recollections. The reporting cited here does not include statements from a counselor or law enforcement, and it does not give dates for the counseling or the divorce.

Kelley’s criticism of her mother
Kelley’s criticism of Wynonna Judd is pointed but brief in the coverage. As quoted by The Independent, she said: “I don’t want to talk bad about my mom, but we’ll just say she’s a good performer. She was never a mother.”
In the same reporting, Kelley said, “My story is so messed up,” and described her history this way: “Between 12 and 17, I was in 14 different facilities.” The facility count is her own account of her personal history. It is not a verified figure, and the reporting does not cite an institution or study that confirms it.

What Wynonna Judd has said
The statement Judd is on record making about Roach dates to 2007, after his arrest. Quoted by Us Weekly, she said: “Our family will pull together, begin the healing process and hopefully — by the Grace of God — become stronger.” The same report quotes her saying the family would “move forward with our faith, family and our friends to find resolution to this difficult situation.” That statement predates Kelley’s recent public comments and is not a reply to them.
Us Weekly said it sought comment from Judd’s representative and from Roach’s last known contact for its 2025 story. The coverage cited here does not include a response to those requests.
Rank #4
Judd’s 2026 interview with Fox News Digital covers her estrangement from Kelley, her views on addiction and family boundaries, and her care for her granddaughter. It does not directly address the allegation about Roach, so it should not be read as either a denial or a confirmation.
