How LA Knight won the United States title opportunity
Jacob Fatu, LA Knight and Carmelo Hayes reached the final triple threat through the evening’s qualifying matches. Fatu defeated Andrade with a Double Bonce Moonsault. Knight beat Santos Escobar with the BFT while Escobar was attacking from the top rope. Hayes advanced by disqualification against Braun Strowman after Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga interfered and brought a steel chair into the situation. Hayes used Eddie Guerrero-style “Lie, Cheat, and Steal” tactics to make it look as if Strowman had struck him with it.
In the final, Fatu hit a Double Bonce Moonsault on Hayes. Knight pulled Fatu out of the ring, then secured the win over Hayes. The result set Knight up to challenge Nakamura for the United States Championship.
