Elsewhere, AJ Styles pinned Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, Stephanie Vaquer scored the deciding fall in an eight-woman tag, and Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh retained the World Tag Team Championship. WWE Raw results and winners for July 28, 2025
- AJ Styles and The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) defeated Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio and Women’s Tag Team Champions Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Styles pinned Mysterio after Asuka and Sane helped neutralize the champions. ProWrestling.net reviewer Jason Powell reports the match lasted 10:40. WWE’s episode recap; Powell’s review.
- Sheamus defeated Grayson Waller. Sheamus won by pinfall with a Brogue Kick. After the match, Rusev attacked him with a shillelagh and applied The Accolade. Powell reports a 4:10 match duration. WWE recap; Powell’s review.
- Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Stephanie Vaquer and Nikki Bella defeated Women’s World Champion Naomi, Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre and Piper Niven. Ripley hit Niven with a Riptide and slapped Green, creating an opening for Vaquer to win with the SVB. WWE recap.
- Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh defeated Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro to retain the World Tag Team Championship. Interference involving two apparent El Grande Americanos and Dragon Lee shaped the finish; WWE’s recap says the second figure helped the champions retain. Powell reports a 10:55 duration and writes that Wilde and Del Toro appeared close to winning before the interference. WWE recap; Powell’s review.
- Jey Uso defeated Bronson Reed by disqualification. Bron Breakker interfered with a Spear to end the match. Roman Reigns came to help Jey, but Reed and Breakker attacked both men after the bell; Breakker sent Reigns over the commentary table. WWE recap.
Why the Jey Uso–Bronson Reed finish mattered
The disqualification was not a clean win for Reed. Breakker’s interference ended the contest, and the post-match assault shifted attention to the threat facing Jey and Reigns on the eve of SummerSlam. Paul Heyman had confronted Jey earlier about teaming with Reigns, so the closing attack gave that alliance immediate stakes. WWE’s recap presents the events as part of the SummerSlam build, rather than as a decisive in-ring result between Jey and Reed.

How the episode set up SummerSlam
AJ Styles targets Dominik Mysterio
Styles pinned the Intercontinental Champion in a six-person tag-team match, giving him momentum and a direct result over the champion before their SummerSlam title match. The victory came with help from Asuka and Kairi Sane, rather than in a singles bout.
Vaquer gets the deciding fall
In the eight-woman tag, Ripley’s attack on Niven and slap to Green disrupted the opposing side, and Vaquer converted the opening into the pin. The match gave Vaquer a win in the build to SummerSlam while keeping Ripley and the rest of the teams in the story.

Sheamus wins; Rusev keeps the conflict alive
Sheamus pinned Waller with the Brogue Kick, but Rusev’s attack immediately afterward made the aftermath more consequential than the short match itself. The shillelagh strike and Accolade positioned their conflict to continue.
The tag champions retain amid interference
Bálor and McDonagh kept the World Tag Team Championship, but interference was central to the outcome. The finish preserved the champions’ status without giving the challengers a straightforward resolution.

Grades for the matches
These are editorial grades, not WWE ratings or a formal scorecard. They weigh finish clarity and execution, pacing, directly reported crowd response where available, and contribution to the SummerSlam story. WWE’s results page does not assign grades; Powell called the episode solid and praised the closing angle, while noting that the main event served to set it up.
| Match | Grade | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| AJ Styles and The Kabuki Warriors vs. Dominik Mysterio, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez | B | A meaningful win for Styles because he pinned the Intercontinental Champion, with the Kabuki Warriors’ help making the team finish clear and advancing the title-match story. |
| Sheamus vs. Grayson Waller | C+ | The Brogue Kick delivered a straightforward finish, but the 4:10 match was brief. Rusev’s post-match attack supplied the stronger story beat. |
| Ripley, IYO SKY, Vaquer and Nikki Bella vs. Naomi, Green, Fyre and Niven | B | The sequence of Ripley’s disruption leading to Vaquer’s deciding pin gave the match a legible finish and advanced the SummerSlam build. |
| Bálor and McDonagh vs. Wilde and Del Toro | C+ | The challengers’ near-win gave the title bout tension, but interference shaped the retention instead of a clean conclusion. |
| Jey Uso vs. Bronson Reed | B- | The match ended by disqualification, so it did not settle the contest. As a setup for the post-match assault on Jey and Reigns, it served its story purpose; Powell likewise described the main event as setting up the effective closing angle. |

Powell identifies the venue as Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, and reports attendance of 14,703 for the July 28 episode. That figure is Powell’s report, not an attendance number stated on WWE’s official results page. He also identifies the episode as Raw 1,679. Powell’s review.
