Spoiler: April 26, 2025 Wordle answer

CLASH is the answer to Wordle #1,407.

“Any sort of strong conflict could be called this. It doesn’t have to be physical—colours and ideas can do this too,” wrote Kerry Brunskill in PC Gamer’s April 26, 2025 guide. The answer contains no double letter.

How the daily Wordle works

Wordle gives you six attempts to identify a five-letter word. After each guess, the game marks letters by both presence and position:

  • Green: the letter is correct and in the correct position.
  • Yellow: the letter appears in the answer but belongs in another position.
  • Gray or black: the letter does not appear in the answer.

Yahoo’s date-specific guide notes that each puzzle goes live at midnight in the player’s local time. As a result, the puzzle labeled “today” can differ by time zone around the daily changeover.

Tips for solving similar puzzles

Start with varied letters

PC Gamer recommends an opening guess that combines useful vowels and distinct consonants; ARISE was its example. A guess with five different letters can reveal more information than one containing an early duplicate.

Use a tactical second guess

After the first result, consider a second word that tests high-value letters not covered by the opener. This can narrow the possibilities before you commit to a likely answer.

Check for duplicates before the final guess

Repeated letters are common enough in Wordle to deserve a deliberate check, even when the first few guesses suggest a simple pattern. For this puzzle, that check confirmed that every letter in CLASH is unique.
