The regular cast of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is David Henrie as Justin Russo, Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo. Selena Gomez returns as Alex Russo. Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle) and Gregg Sulkin (Mason Greyback) are also announced as returning for the 2026 four-part finale event. The guest roles below come from Disney Plus Press announcements published between May 2024 and July 2026. Dates and availability are as of October 8, 2026.
Regular cast and their characters
Disney’s own announcements are the most reliable source for which performer is attached to which role. The six regular performers and their characters are:
| Actor | Character | Role in the revival |
|---|---|---|
| David Henrie | Justin Russo | Adult Justin, who has chosen a normal, mortal life with Giada, Roman and Milo. Alex brings Billie to him for help, and he must mentor her while managing family life and the Wizard World. |
| Janice LeAnn Brown | Billie | A young wizard who comes to Justin for help and is the show’s central new lead. |
| Alkaio Thiele | Roman Russo | Justin and Giada’s son. |
| Max Matenko | Milo Russo | Justin and Giada’s son. |
| Taylor Cora | Winter | Billie’s friend. |
| Mimi Gianopulos | Giada Russo | Justin’s wife and part of the Russo household. |
Disney’s May 14, 2024 announcement described the premise this way: “The series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo.” (Disney Plus Press, “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Title and First-Look Images Revealed,” May 14, 2024.)
Returning characters from Wizards of Waverly Place
Disney describes the revival as a continuation of Wizards of Waverly Place, which ran from 2007 to 2012 and followed the Russo family as three siblings balanced adolescence with their magical abilities. Three original-series characters are confirmed as returning.

Release dates and what the announcements do not settle
The key dates from Disney’s announcements are:
- May 14, 2024: title and first-look images revealed, with Gomez named as a guest star in the first episode.
- April 2, 2026: the summer return was announced under the title “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Returns for One Last Spell This Summer on Disney+ and Disney Channel.”
- July 15, 2026: the four-part finale-event cast was announced.
- August 4, 2026 (Disney Channel) and August 5, 2026 (Disney+): scheduled release dates for the event in the U.S. and select international markets. These dates have passed.
The announcements do not establish episode counts for most guest performers, whether any guest role is recurring, or current catalog availability in every territory. Where a performer appears above without a character name or episode count, that gap reflects the source, not a missing role.
The April 2, 2026 announcement described the original series this way: “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which ran from 2007 to 2012, followed the Russo family, where three siblings navigated the challenges of adolescence while mastering their magical abilities.
