Its announced world premiere is scheduled for October 16, 2026, at Snowbasin Resort in Huntsville, Utah. The film’s makers describe a mix of interviews, archival material and newly filmed footage.
What is Will Ski 4 Food about?
The film centers on Gary Nate, an Ogden native whose independent ski-film project began in 1973, according to the documentary’s official project site. The site says Nate later filmed with Warren Miller for nearly 40 years. The documentary connects Nate’s camera work with the young skiers around Ogden whose experimentation helped define early freestyle skiing.
The project presents the story through interviews with original athletes, archival footage and newly filmed material. Its setting and history are closely tied to the mountains around Ogden, including Snowbasin. Those are the filmmakers’ stated aims; the film has not yet premiered, so its final contents and effect cannot be independently assessed.
Who appears in the documentary?
The project site’s “The Legends” section names Bobbie Chambers, Doug Coleman, Mike Hart, Jeff Hyde, Tom Leavitt, Craig Olsen, Bob Salerno, Kenny Wright, Robert Young and Bobbie Burns. Its “Also Featuring” section lists Deno Dudunake, Tom Jungst, Scot Schmidt and Wayne Wong. Visit Ogden’s event listing names Wayne Wong, Scott Schmidt and Tom Jungst as interview subjects; it spells Schmidt with two t’s.
