That reported association—not any established finding that Fan was involved in Yu’s death—was cited as the reason for the reaction.
What is Love’s Ambition?
Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼) is a 32-episode romance starring Zhao Lusi as Xu Yan and William Chan as Shen Haoming, according to Now TV’s official listing. Xu Yan is described as a popular internet celebrity and Shen as an urban elite; their different backgrounds put pressure on their relationship.
Why did the drama face backlash?
The Times of India reported that Fan Shiqi, who has a minor role in the series, was alleged to have been present at a gathering connected in public discussion to Yu Menglong’s death. The report attributed negative reaction toward the drama to that association. It also relayed claims that Fan’s screen time might be reduced, but neither that possibility nor any episode edits were independently verified in the available reporting. Read the Times of India report.
What is established about Fan Shiqi’s connection to Yu Menglong’s death?
The reporting describes an allegation of attendance at a gathering; it does not establish that Fan participated in, caused, or knew about Yu’s death. The attendance claim itself was not independently verified in the available coverage. It should not be treated as evidence of involvement in the death.
