Vin Diesel has said he prefers to keep his personal life private, describing that choice as part of an older-school acting tradition. In 2017, he also said Paloma Jiménez did not want to do press. Those are the clearest explanations available; the reporting does not establish a hidden motive or confirm that Jiménez is his wife.
What Vin Diesel has said about privacy
In a 2013 interview, Diesel linked his approach to a tradition of actors who kept their lives out of the spotlight. “I am from the New York school of actors – the De Niros and the Denzels and the Pacinos – who have always been really quiet about their lives, as opposed to the more Hollywood approach that is more out there,” he said, as quoted by Daily Actor. He added: “But people are very respectful about my privacy.”

Diesel has also discussed how social media changed what audiences expect from public figures. A 2015 TIME feature covered his public social-media presence and comments about authenticity. That context helps explain the contrast between his online visibility and the limited disclosure of family details, but it does not prove a specific motive for keeping those details private.
What he has said about Paloma Jiménez
In a 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Diesel praised Jiménez, saying, “She’s everything. She’s the perfect mother.” The report also says he explained that she did not want to do press. That is Diesel’s account of her preference; it is not a direct statement from Jiménez about why she avoids publicity.

Is Paloma Jiménez Vin Diesel’s wife?
Coverage identifies Jiménez as Diesel’s partner and the mother of their children. A 2023 Telemundo report describes her in those terms. The sources cited here do not confirm that the two are married, so “wife” should not be treated as established fact.
A 2020 El País profile described Jiménez as the mother of their three children and said they had been together for 13 years at that time. That is historical reporting, not confirmation of their relationship status in 2026.

A 2015 Los Angeles Times report noted that news of the couple’s third child’s impending birth became public shortly before the birth. It is one concrete example of how little advance family information was public; by itself, it does not establish why the couple chose that level of disclosure.
The available reporting supports a straightforward account: Diesel has said he values privacy, and he reported that Jiménez did not want to do press. It does not establish security concerns, relationship trouble, a calculated publicity strategy, or another private reason. His on-screen emphasis on family in the Fast & Furious films is not evidence about his personal motives.
