PerthNow published its explanation on 2 June 2020. It noted that viewers had spotted Kelly Rowland, Boy George, Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian appearing in the same looks across Blind Audition episodes. The article attributes the production rationale to the Daily Mail: the coaches were asked to repeat outfits so that editors could assemble auditions filmed on different days, pick the strongest acts for each episode, and shape the final broadcast. PerthNow places the filming in February at Fox Studios over several days, without giving a count.
OverSixty gives a similar account of the editing purpose and reports that the Blind Auditions were filmed over four days. That four-day figure is OverSixty’s own reporting; PerthNow’s account does not state a number, so the two should not be merged into one confirmed count.
Nine’s season announcement for The Voice Australia’s ninth season confirms that these four coaches formed the returning panel. That establishes who was on the panel, not how the wardrobe was handled.

A blind audition is filmed as a series of performances, each with its own camera setups, reactions and pauses. Those performances are not necessarily recorded in the order they air, and a single broadcast episode is assembled from material gathered across several filming days. When the coaches’ clothing is the same from one day to the next, an editor can cut between a coach’s reaction shot from one day and a performance from another without the viewer noticing a jump in appearance. The effect is a seamless panel that appears to be sitting through one continuous session.
That is the rationale the reporting gives. It does not describe the internal scheduling, the number of takes or the editing software used, and none of those details should be assumed.
