The 1000-Lb. Sisters scene in which Tammy Slaton cries is about a weigh-in Caleb Willingham shares with her while they are together—not a conversation after his death. E! News’ preview for the December 26, 2023 episode says Caleb reported weighing 537 pounds, and Tammy became emotional as he described his doctor’s stated surgery threshold. Tammy later posted a separate, tearful video while grieving Caleb’s death in July 2023.
What happens in the weigh-in scene?
In its preview for the December 26, 2023 episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, E! News describes Caleb telling Tammy that his weigh-in had not gone as planned. Its written report says Caleb gave his weight as 537 pounds and said his doctor had told him he needed to reach 500 pounds for surgery. Tammy becomes emotional as he shares the result.
The 537-pound figure is Caleb’s account on the show, as reported by E!. The 500-pound threshold is likewise his account of what his doctor told him; it should not be treated as independently verified medical guidance or a general rule for surgery. E! News’ episode preview covers the scene and Caleb’s reported figures.
Why the footage is not a posthumous conversation
The episode preview identifies a moment from Tammy and Caleb’s life together. Although Caleb was later described in coverage as Tammy’s late husband, that wording does not mean the scene was filmed after his death. Caleb died in 2023, months before E!’s December episode preview.
