Doherty filed her request on June 14, 2024, according to Entertainment Tonight. She sought monthly spousal support of $15,434, retroactive to June 1, as well as $9,100 toward attorney fees and costs. The amounts were requests, not a court-ordered award.

Her filing reportedly said that during the last three years of the marriage, Kurt Iswarienko’s average annual earnings were $672,916 and hers were $259,708. Those figures, too, were figures Doherty gave in her filing as reported by Entertainment Tonight; they are not independently established income findings.
Why did she say she needed support?
Medical costs, work and insurance
Entertainment Tonight reported that Doherty’s filing said she was unable to work and was paying for experimental treatments with medical expenses not covered by insurance. She also said she expected to lose eligibility for SAG health insurance because she had not worked that year. The report does not independently verify her expenses or insurance status.

She described her circumstances in the filing as follows: “While I have been unable to work, incurring exorbitant medical expenses not covered by insurance.” The statement was Doherty’s account of her situation, as reproduced by Entertainment Tonight, rather than a judicial determination.
Expenses and expected income
According to Entertainment Tonight’s account of the filing, Doherty said her monthly expenses exceeded $54,600 and that her medical expenses in 2023 alone were $21,640. She also forecast that her future residual income would decline after Charmed left major streaming platforms after June 30, 2024. The expense totals and expected change in residuals were claims and projections in her filing, not verified findings about her later finances.

Her allegations about Iswarienko’s spending
Doherty’s filing also alleged that Iswarienko was using an airplane and spending money at medical spas, jewelry stores and Gucci, as well as on flights for his agent, while claiming he lacked funds to support her. These were allegations in her filing, reported by Entertainment Tonight; the report does not establish them as facts or as a court’s findings.
What happened after the support request?
In July 2024, the parties signed papers seeking an uncontested dissolution of the marriage. Entertainment Tonight reported that Doherty signed on July 12 and Iswarienko on July 13. The papers described a written agreement addressing property and support and asked to terminate support requests, according to CBS News and Entertainment Tonight. That later filing was a separate development from the June request.

Later reporting described a dispute over the agreement rather than a settled resolution. El País reported in December 2025 that Doherty’s estate accused Iswarienko of failing to meet some obligations. In a January 2026 report, El País said Iswarienko challenged the agreement’s enforceability and the court’s jurisdiction. The available reports describe the estate’s allegations and his side’s arguments; they do not establish a final ruling on that dispute.

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, CBS News reported. She later said the cancer had returned and was stage 4; reports differ on whether the recurrence dates to 2019 or 2020, so those dates should not be treated as interchangeable. She filed for divorce in April 2023 after separating from Iswarienko in January that year, according to Entertainment Tonight and CBS News.
