Sally Struthers was seen taking her dog to a veterinarian in Beverly Hills on Jan. 16, 2025, according to a People report. The sighting came three days after she appeared on Let’s Talk About That! With Larry Saperstein and Jacob Bellotti, where she recalled difficult experiences from her years on All in the Family and an encounter with Betty White. Those accounts are Struthers’s recollections as reported by People; the report does not independently verify them.
Why was Sally Struthers spotted in Beverly Hills?
People reported that Struthers was taking her dog to a veterinarian in Beverly Hills on Jan. 16, 2025. The report placed the sighting a few days after her Jan. 13 appearance on Let’s Talk About That! With Larry Saperstein and Jacob Bellotti. It did not report that the outing was connected to her comments about her former colleagues.

What did Struthers say about Norman Lear?
As People relayed her podcast recollections, Struthers said she felt excluded during her eight years on All in the Family and was not invited to dinner parties at Lear’s home. She also described frustration with what she saw as limited, repetitive lines for her character.
Struthers reportedly recalled Lear explaining her casting by saying, “So we hired you because just like Carroll O’Connor, you have blue eyes and a fat face.” That is her reported memory of a past conversation, not a separately recorded statement from Lear.

Her account of trying to leave the show
Struthers said that after five seasons she sought legal help to leave the series, but lost in arbitration. People’s report puts her legal fees at $40,000, an amount attributed to her account in that story rather than independently verified here.
What did Struthers say Betty White told her?
Struthers recounted an incident at White’s home while they were working on a game-show pilot. According to the account reported by People, White discouraged her from taking a cookie, saying, “Oh, I wouldn’t do that if I were you dear, you don’t need a cookie.” Struthers said the comment hurt her and characterized White as passive-aggressive.

The account is Struthers’s recollection of the exchange. People’s report offers no independent corroboration or response from White, so it should not be treated as an independently established account of what happened.
