The look made her gray visible without obscuring the rest of her red-carpet styling.
How Salma Hayek wore her hair
Vogue described Hayek’s hair as salt-and-pepper and softly waved, styled half up and half down. The hair was drawn back from her face, leaving the gray at her temples in view; silver strands were also interwoven with her dark hair.
That combination is the defining detail of the look: distinct wisps near the temples alongside silver blended through the lengths, rather than an all-gray hairstyle. Marie Claire’s gallery of gray-haired looks from the ceremony also singled out the gray at Hayek’s temples.

Hayek attended the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2025, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and presented during the ceremony. The official Golden Globes archive records the event date and venue.

Vogue paired its description of the hairstyle with Hayek’s shimmering burgundy Gucci gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry featuring more than 300 carats of Colombian emeralds. The hair’s softly waved shape and pulled-back front kept the silver details visible against the darker hair.
What is—and isn’t—known about the look
The event coverage documents visible gray, but does not establish whether Hayek colored her hair, how she prepared it, or whether showing the silver was an intentional statement about aging. It also does not name a hairstylist or identify products used. The appearance is best described by what the coverage shows: gray wisps at the temples and silver strands among her dark hair.
