Why did the FBI put Ryan Wedding on its Ten Most Wanted list?
In its March 6, 2025 announcement, the FBI said Wedding was wanted for allegedly running and participating in a transnational cocaine-trafficking operation, as well as allegedly orchestrating murders and an attempted murder in furtherance of drug crimes. Those were government allegations, not a finding of guilt. The FBI’s announcement described the case and explained his addition to the list.

What route did authorities say the cocaine took?
The FBI described shipments moving from Colombia through Mexico and Southern California to Canada and other locations in the United States. This is the route alleged by authorities; the available source does not provide an independent estimate of the operation’s scale.
What murder allegations were included?
The allegations went beyond drug trafficking. In a November 19, 2025 federal indictment announcement, the U.S. Department of Justice said Wedding was charged with ordering the killing of a witness in Medellín, Colombia. The indictment’s claims are allegations, not adjudicated facts. The Justice Department’s release provides the government’s account of that case.
