Why Rachel Zoe said the timing was right
Bravo announced Zoe’s Season 15 casting in June 2025. In the announcement, she said viewers had been asking her to return to television, but she wanted to wait until the moment made sense and she had enough to share. “And now’s the time,” she said. Bravo’s casting announcement framed the return as a new chapter rather than a simple reprise of her earlier reality-TV work.

The timing followed a major change in her personal life: Us Weekly reported that Zoe announced her separation from Rodger Berman in September 2024, after 26 years of marriage. The outlet also reported that she joined the show as a full-time Housewife for Season 15 and that the move marked her return to Bravo after The Rachel Zoe Project. What she wanted to share on RHOBH
In an interview with Vogue around the season’s debut, Zoe said her life felt “very new and different” and that she felt the best she had ever felt. She distinguished the new show from The Rachel Zoe Project: that series introduced viewers to the fashion business, runways and red carpets, while Real Housewives gave her a chance to share more human, relatable experiences with women. “With Housewives, this really feels like a time to share with as many women as possible what life can be for anybody,” she told Vogue.

Bravo’s Season 15 video similarly presents Zoe as returning after her divorce and years away from reality television, ready to share her new life. That is the show’s framing, not evidence that the series was created solely around her personal story. Bravo’s Season 15 video provides that overview.
