There was no new Outlander episode on Friday, January 10, 2025, because STARZ’s usual slot was pre-empted by the 7th annual Critics Choice Celebration of Black Cinema & Television. The one-week interruption was not a cancellation. Season 7, Episode 16—the finale, “A Hundred Thousand Angels”—was scheduled for January 17, 2025.
Why was there no new Outlander episode on January 10?
Outlander had been airing weekly on STARZ, normally at 8 p.m. ET. On January 10, the Critics Choice Celebration of Black Cinema & Television occupied the network’s schedule. The same scheduling report listed the film Plane in the 9 p.m. slot.
“Outlander Season 7 did not air its new episode due to an award ceremony taking its spot on January 10.”
Mandatory, January 10, 2025
That was a scheduled pre-emption for one week, not evidence that STARZ had canceled or ended the season early.
