Netflix has signaled that it will periodically adjust prices, and it raised U.S. plan prices in March 2026. That makes further increases plausible, but Netflix has not announced a schedule or said when, where, or by how much it might raise prices next. The timing and amount remain uncertain.
Why Netflix says it raises prices
Netflix says it periodically adjusts plan prices to invest in programming and service improvements. It also says it tests different plans and price points to understand consumer demand, while focusing primarily on long-term revenue maximization. Those are the company’s stated reasons, not a guarantee that any particular price change will fund a specific show or feature. Netflix’s investor FAQ describes its pricing approach.
In its Q4 2024 shareholder letter, Netflix said: “As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix.” The letter said prices were being adjusted across most plans in the U.S., Canada, Portugal, and Argentina. Netflix’s Q4 2024 shareholder letter
The same letter reported that, in Q4 2024, more than 55% of sign-ups in markets where Netflix offered advertising chose the ad-supported plan, and membership on that plan grew nearly 30% quarter over quarter. Those are figures for that quarter, not current adoption rates. Netflix described the lower-priced ad plan as popular; its investor FAQ also identifies ad-member growth, improving ad fill rates, and maintaining industry-leading CPMs as long-term ad-revenue drivers. As of 2026, Netflix said it offered ad plans in 12 markets and planned launches in 15 more markets in 2027; those launches are plans, not guarantees. Netflix’s investor FAQ

What the latest reported U.S. prices were
TechCrunch reported on March 26, 2026, that Netflix confirmed the following U.S. monthly prices by email. The figures are a dated U.S. snapshot, not a global rate card or a guarantee of the price currently shown to every subscriber.
| U.S. plan | Monthly price reported March 26, 2026 | Previous monthly price | Reported increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard with Ads | $8.99 | $7.99 | $1 |
| Standard without ads | $19.99 | $17.99 | $2 |
| Premium | $26.99 | $24.99 | $2 |
The report also listed U.S. extra-member fees of $6.99 for an ad-supported plan, previously $7.99, and $9.99 for an ad-free plan, previously $8.99. These prices and fees were reported by TechCrunch on March 26, 2026, which said new members saw the prices from March 26 and existing subscribers would receive the change over the following months. Netflix was to email each existing member one month before the updated price applied. Check your account and billing notice for your actual price and effective date.

Prices depend on country and plan
Netflix says plan prices and features vary by country. Its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 reported monthly plan prices equivalent to US$1–$38 globally and extra-member sub-account prices equivalent to US$2–$10 globally as of that date. These ranges reflect different markets and plans; they do not tell a subscriber what Netflix charges in a particular location. See Netflix’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
To judge the impact of a change, compare the local plan options with what you actually watch and use: the monthly amount, whether the plan includes ads, the features offered locally, and any extra-member fee you pay. Don’t apply the U.S. figures above to another country.

What recent revenue figures do—and don’t—show
Netflix reported revenue of $12.560 billion in Q2 2026, up 13% from Q2 2025, and $24.810 billion for the first six months of 2026, up 15% year over year. The company attributed growth primarily to membership growth, price increases, and increased advertising revenue; favorable foreign-exchange movements also affected the comparison. The filing does not establish that price increases alone drove the growth. Netflix’s Form 10-Q
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is another Netflix increase coming soon?
More increases are plausible: Netflix says it periodically adjusts prices, and the March 2026 U.S. changes provide recent precedent. But that is an inference, not an announced next hike. The available company statements and filing do not establish a recurring annual cycle, a future date, or a uniform increase across countries. For a change that affects your bill, rely on Netflix’s local plan information and the notice sent to your account rather than assuming the U.S. timing or prices apply to you.
