The announcement ended the rest of the planned run, including seven Canadian shows and eight U.S. dates, one of them an appearance at the Ohana Festival.
Why were the remaining dates cancelled?
The band described the decision as an unplanned break and said some members had not fully recovered. In a statement reproduced by Pitchfork on June 27, 2024, the band said: “We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break.”

The statement did not identify which members had been ill or name an illness. The cause should therefore be understood only as the band described it: members were sick and not fully recovered. No diagnosis was disclosed.
Which Crazy Horse dates were cancelled?
The June announcement covered the rest of the Love Earth Tour: seven shows in Canada and eight U.S. dates, including the Ohana Festival appearance, according to Pitchfork and Pollstar. The Los Angeles Times also reported that the Hollywood Bowl show was among the cancelled dates.

How did the cancellation follow the May postponements?
The June decision came after illness-related cancellations in May, when shows in Chicago, Austin, and Dallas were called off. At that point, the band had cancelled specific performances; on June 26, it announced that the remaining tour dates would not go ahead.
The June statement also reflected the band’s positive experience on the tour before it ended: “The Love Earth Tour has been a great experience for us so far. GREAT AUDIENCES AND MUSIC. WE HAVE HAD A BLAST!” The words were attributed to the band’s statement, not specifically to Young.

In August 2024, Young offered a personal explanation of listening to his body when stopping touring, as reported by MusicRadar. That later comment provides context about his decision to stop touring, but it was separate from the band’s June statement and did not disclose who had been ill or provide a diagnosis.
