He said the band would try to play some missed dates later, when ready—but did not promise to reschedule every show.
Why did Neil Young and Crazy Horse stop the tour?
In a statement posted on Young’s official website and reproduced by iHeart on June 27, 2024, Young said that “a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob” and the band was “still not fully recovered.” He did not name the affected members or provide a diagnosis.

Pitchfork’s June 27 report said the illness was also behind earlier postponements in Chicago, Austin, and Dallas. Those shows had already been postponed before the announcement about the remaining dates.

Did the band say the canceled shows would be rescheduled?
No. Young said, “We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again.” That expressed an intention to try to make up some dates, not a guarantee that all canceled shows would return. The announcement gave no return date.

The available reporting establishes what the band announced in June 2024; it does not establish Crazy Horse’s touring status in 2026 or the final outcome for each affected date. Later Neil Young performances with a different lineup would not, by themselves, answer whether Crazy Horse resumed touring together.

The tour was announced in February 2024 alongside Fu##in’ Up. Pitchfork described the album as a nine-song release, with a limited vinyl edition for Record Store Day and a wider release scheduled afterward. The album announcement was separate from the June tour interruption; see Pitchfork’s February 13, 2024 coverage for that context.
