Its margarita glass, rotating tiki-hut-style base, flying dimorphodons and tiny “lost shaker of salt” accessory give it a strong claim to being one of SDCC 2024’s most distinctive exclusives. “Best” is a matter of taste, though: the available sources do not establish an objective ranking against the convention’s other collectibles.
What is the Jimmy Buffett Jurassic World figure?
The Mattel Creations collectible, SKU HXY24, belongs to the Hammond Collection and recreates Jimmy Buffett’s cameo in Jurassic World. As Mattel Creations describes the scene, Buffett rescues two of his signature drinks during a dimorphodon attack. The figure turns that blink-and-you-might-miss-it moment into a compact display scene rather than a conventional stand-alone character figure.
Mattel lists the figure at 3.75 inches tall. Its outfit includes sunglasses and flip-flops, and the set includes two drink glasses and a “lost shaker of salt” accessory. A margarita-style platform places the scene among flying dimorphodons.
What comes with it, and what does the base do?
The centerpiece is a tiki-hut-style base that turns. Mattel’s product description says the margarita glass lights up and plays music when the base is turned; the listing also describes blender and dimorphodon sounds. Mattel’s SDCC event page separately promotes lights and movie-inspired sounds. These are features described by Mattel, not independent performance testing.

Why it stands out among SDCC collectibles
The figure’s appeal is its specificity. Rather than relying on a generic dinosaur pose, it celebrates a short, recognizable movie gag and builds the accessories and effects around it. The margarita platform, miniature drinks, shaker, lights and creature sounds make the set feel like a small scene with a punchline.

That is a persuasive case for calling it a memorable exclusive, but not proof that it was objectively the best of SDCC 2024. Mattel’s event listing establishes that the item was among that year’s offerings; it does not compare it with other exclusives or provide a collector poll, review consensus or ranking.

Mattel said the release would support Singing for Change with a $5,000 donation and 5,000 toys, in honor of Buffett’s philanthropic legacy. That is Mattel’s announcement; the cited product and event pages do not independently confirm that the contribution was fulfilled.
