Mattel announced two Hot Wheels collectibles for San Diego Comic-Con 2025: a Back to the Future set marking the film’s 40th anniversary and a Jaws collectible for its 50th. The announced suggested retail price was $32 per set. The planned sales dates and channels were for the 2025 convention period; current stock and resale prices are not established.
What Mattel announced
The two 1:64-scale collectibles turn scenes from the films into display-oriented sets. The Back to the Future release includes two vehicles and a mall diorama; the Jaws release recreates the boat-and-shark encounter with two separate models. Mattel framed the releases around the anniversaries taking place in 2025.
How the two sets compare
| Set | Film anniversary in 2025 | Models and display elements | Announced price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hot Wheels Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Set | 40 years | DeLorean time machine, Dr. E. Brown’s Enterprises transport truck, and a Twin Pines Mall diorama | $32 suggested retail price, announced for 2025 |
| Hot Wheels Jaws 50th Anniversary | 50 years | Two die-cast models: the Orca and the shark; packaging uses 1970s design cues and ocean imagery | $32 suggested retail price, announced for 2025 |
What each collectible depicts
Back to the Future: DeLorean, truck, and Twin Pines Mall
The set brings together the DeLorean time machine and Dr. E. Brown’s Enterprises transport truck, with a cinematic Twin Pines Mall diorama. Its packaging is described as display-oriented, making the mall scene part of the presentation rather than simply a vehicle pairing.
Jaws: the Orca and the shark
The Jaws collectible recreates the boat-and-shark scene using distinct Orca and shark die-cast models. Its packaging adds ocean imagery and design cues associated with the 1970s.

Price and 2025 sales plans
The SDCC report gave a suggested retail price of $32 for each set. That is Mattel’s announced 2025 price, not a current listing or resale valuation.
For San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Mattel planned to display the exclusives at booth #3029 and sell merchandise at booth #2945. The report also said most items were scheduled to appear on MattelCreations.com on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 9 a.m. Pacific. These are historical plans, not confirmation that either set is available now.
