Posting the amended complaint and a long timeline on a dedicated website just before a court hearing also put the team’s materials in front of the public at a moment when publicity was expected to be discussed. A legal expert’s reported interpretation was that the timing could affect Blake Lively’s request for a gag order, but that is analysis—not proven private intent or a court finding.
What Baldoni’s website published
In early February 2025, Baldoni’s team launched thelawsuitinfo.com, which linked to an amended complaint and a 168-page “Timeline of Relevant Events” containing emails and text messages, according to ABC News Australia and Fox News. Fox reported that both documents had been filed in federal court on Friday, ahead of a hearing scheduled for Monday. ABC described the hearing as having been brought forward and said the judge intended to address pretrial publicity and attorney conduct.
The idea of a website had reportedly been discussed earlier by Baldoni’s legal team, ABC said. The timing of the launch nevertheless drew attention because it came just before a hearing where public statements and their potential effects were expected to be considered.
What Baldoni’s lawyer said about the amendment
Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s attorney, said the reason for revising the lawsuit was new evidence: “The decision to amend our lawsuit was a logical next step due to the overwhelming amount of new proof that has come to light,” he told Fox News. That explains the legal team’s stated reason for amending its pleading; it does not establish that the allegations or evidence in the filing were true.

Why the timing may have mattered
An exclusive article’s indexed excerpt reported a legal expert’s interpretation that publishing the complaint and timeline before the hearing could put alleged messages into public view and potentially weaken Lively’s request for a gag order. The expert’s identity and further explanation are not established in the available excerpt. The interpretation should therefore be understood as a reported view of possible legal strategy, not proof of what Baldoni or his team privately intended.
The dispute over publicity was explicit. Lively’s lawyers called the website part of an “extrajudicial campaign” to influence the proceedings and public perception, and warned of a risk to potential jurors, according to ABC. Freedman defended releasing the materials, saying: “All we want is for people to see the actual text messages that directly contradict her allegations, video footage that clearly shows there was no sexual harassment and all the other powerful evidence that directly contradict any false allegations.” Those statements represent the parties’ competing positions, not findings by the court.

The case’s later outcome
The website launch happened while the litigation was active: Lively had filed her federal lawsuit in December 2024, and Baldoni and associated plaintiffs brought claims against her and others in January 2025. The parties later settled before trial, and the court subsequently dismissed Baldoni’s countersuit, the Associated Press reported. The website is therefore best understood as an episode in the 2025 dispute over the allegations and pretrial publicity, not as a current court tactic.
