What the appeals court changed
Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted by a federal jury in 2022 of bank-fraud and tax-related offenses. The U.S. Department of Justice said the couple conspired to obtain more than $36 million in personal loans from community banks in the Atlanta area. DOJ’s 2022 account of the case
On June 21, 2024, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit affirmed the convictions but vacated Julie Chrisley’s sentence. The panel concluded that the sentencing court had included losses from 2006 without identifying evidence that Julie was involved in the conspiracy that year. The court did not order a new trial or undo the guilty verdicts. Its remedy was limited to the sentencing calculations: “So we vacate Julie’s sentence and remand for the district court to make factual findings and calculations supporting the loss, restitution, and forfeiture amounts.”

What the limited remand required
The district court was directed to make factual findings and calculations supporting the amounts of loss, restitution and forfeiture attributable to Julie, then resentence her. The appeals court affirmed the other issues addressed in the appeal. The remand therefore concerned the basis and amounts used in sentencing, not whether the convictions stood.
Julie Chrisley’s September 2024 sentence
On September 25, 2024, U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross resentenced Chrisley to seven years in prison—the same term she had originally received. The sentence was reported as 84 months’ imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release. Contemporaneous report on the resentencing

What the DOJ clemency record later listed
The U.S. Department of Justice Office of the Pardon Attorney’s clemency listing records a May 2025 pardon for Julie Chrisley. It also lists restitution of $4,740,645.04 and notes that her sentence was amended on September 25, 2024.
