That is separate from a later absence: on October 1, 2026, cohost Sunny Hostin said Behar had dislocated her shoulder. As of October 8, 2026, no confirmed return date had been reported.
Why did Joy Behar miss four consecutive episodes?
The four-episode absence was reported on November 12, 2025. Goldberg told viewers Behar was out because she had hurt her foot and said she hoped Behar would return the next day. Behar typically had Mondays off, so the four consecutive missed episodes included additional episodes from Tuesday through Thursday. Goldberg’s hope was not confirmation of a scheduled return. Entertainment Weekly reported the absence and Goldberg’s explanation.

Was that the same absence reported in October 2026?
No. On October 1, 2026, Hostin explained a separate absence, saying Behar had dislocated her shoulder, was recovering, and would be back soon. That later report does not change the reason for the November 2025 four-episode absence. People reported Hostin’s on-air update.
Has Joy Behar returned to The View?
The available reporting does not confirm whether Behar had returned by October 8, 2026, or give a specific return date after the shoulder injury. “Back soon” was Hostin’s expectation, not a dated schedule. ABC’s October 2 press material lists Behar among the cohosts for the show’s 30th season, but a season roster does not establish attendance on any particular episode. ABC’s season 30 press material lists the cohosts.
