Jordan Bolger said he would not return to Peaky Blinders because the production could not work around his other acting commitments. He described the outcome as outside his control. The series recast Isaiah Jesus, with Daryl McCormack playing the character from season five.
Why did Jordan Bolger leave Peaky Blinders?
Bolger’s stated reason was a scheduling conflict. In a statement reproduced by Devdiscourse in 2019, he said: “Disappointingly it seems production aren’t able to work round my other commitments so as it stands I won’t be returning.”

He also described the show and role positively: “Peaky/Isaiah has been a big part of my life, a great experience and I’ve met some amazing people but this one is out of my control.” The wording is quoted as reported by Devdiscourse; a 2024 report by The News International likewise reproduced his explanation and said the announcement appeared on X, formerly Twitter.
Who played Isaiah after Bolger?
Bolger played Isaiah Jesus in the first four seasons. Daryl McCormack took over the role beginning in season five. The Irish Independent reported in 2021 that Bolger had signed a contract elsewhere, but it did not identify that project as the specific commitment he meant or establish it as his only commitment.

Was Bolger fired or did he quit?
His reported statement does not say that he was fired or that he chose to leave. It says the production could not accommodate his other commitments, and he characterized the result as outside his control. The available reporting does not establish a personal dispute, a specific competing project, or another reason for the casting change.
