British GQ reports that Bailey chose Cubitts frames at a costume fitting and that the screen look was a variation on the brand’s Plimsoll. That distinction matters: the later Cubitts Loomis collaboration is inspired by the character and screen look, but it is not the exact on-screen pair.

Who coined the phrase?
Coverage attributes “slutty little glasses” to culture commentator Blakely Thornton, but the available accounts do not establish a documented first use. Director Gareth Edwards joked that Bailey, not the filmmaker, was responsible for the effect. In an interview with The AU Review, Edwards said: “I would love to take credit. It’s totally Jonathan’s doing. He’s a superstar and I would buy shares in him now if he was selling stock.”
Bailey responded to the attention in an Entertainment Tonight red-carpet interview: “I’m thrilled that people are having a hormonal explosion linked to optical supports.” The phrase is cheeky, but its reach reflects a recognizable screen effect: a small styling choice can reshape how viewers read a character.

How the screen look differs from Cubitts’ Loomis collaboration
Cubitts’ official Loomis product listing describes a limited-edition collaboration with Bailey and The Shameless Fund. The sunglasses have a classic hexagonal shape, stainless-steel construction, slender rims, black acetate temple tips and soft pink-tinted lenses. That pink tint makes the retail collaboration visibly different from the screen eyewear.

Cubitts says the collaboration donates 50% of the unit price for the first 3,000 units sold and 75% for units beyond that to The Shameless Fund, subject to the exclusions on its product page. Those are the listed terms for this product, not a general fundraising rate.
For a similar look, compare frame width and bridge size with glasses that already fit you, and decide whether you want pink-tinted sunglasses or a neutral-lens style. A resemblance to the screen frames or the Loomis collaboration does not establish that another pair is the same product.
