Jessica Alba said she did not want her grandparents to see her nude, and that getting naked would not have improved the films she had made. She gave that explanation while discussing her nudity clause in a 2014 Glamour interview.
What Jessica Alba said about her nudity clause
In a Glamour interview excerpt published May 6, 2014, Alba explained: “I don’t want my grandparents to see my boobs. That’s it. It would be weird at Christmas. And, I mean, really, if you look at the movies I have done, getting naked would never ‘elevate’ the picture.”

The answer had two parts: a personal concern about her grandparents seeing her nude, and her view that nudity would not have added anything to the films she had made. The Glamour excerpt previewed the magazine’s June 2014 issue and identified the passage as Alba explaining why she had a nudity clause.
Was her explanation about religion?
Not in this Glamour passage. A 2021 The List retrospective separately attributes a Catholic-upbringing explanation to an interview in Scarlet, relayed through the Daily Mail. That is a distinct account, not the reason Alba gave in the quoted Glamour excerpt. Later retrospectives repeat the grandparents-and-Christmas explanation, but Glamour is the original source for these words.

Alba was describing her own boundary and her own assessment of her roles. The passage does not make a general statement about other actors or their choices.
