Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was not canceled hours before fight night. The July 20, 2024 bout was postponed after Tyson experienced a medical issue; the rescheduled fight took place on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where Paul won by unanimous decision.
Was Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson canceled hours before the fight?
No. The claim confuses the original date change with the event itself. Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions initially announced the bout for July 20, 2024, then rescheduled it. The fight was held on November 15, 2024, rather than being called off on fight night. Netflix’s event announcement and its event listing identify the revised date; the Associated Press later confirmed the bout took place.
Why was the July fight postponed?
The Associated Press reported that Tyson experienced a medical episode on a plane and was treated for a stomach ulcer. He needed time to recover, so the July date was postponed. The available reporting does not establish a detailed diagnosis beyond that account or specify when Tyson received medical clearance. The AP report attributes the medical explanation to the reported episode and treatment; it does not support additional medical speculation.
Why was November 15 chosen?
Most Valuable Promotions announced the replacement date and said it would give both fighters equal time to prepare while keeping the event at AT&T Stadium during the Cowboys season. That is the promoter’s stated rationale, not independent confirmation that these were the only factors behind the scheduling decision. MVP’s rescheduling announcement gives its explanation.

Did the rescheduled fight happen?
Yes. Paul and Tyson fought at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 15, 2024. The Associated Press reported that Paul won by unanimous decision. The post-fight report confirms the result.
Could a boxing fight still be called off on fight day?
In general, a bout may not proceed if a fighter is unable to compete safely. But the available reporting on Paul–Tyson does not document a fight-day cancellation decision, a specific Texas rule or medical threshold, or a precise clearance date for Tyson. That general possibility should not be confused with what happened in this case: the July date was postponed, and the November event went ahead.
