Restream’s prerecorded playlist feature schedules uploaded video files as a YouTube broadcast; it does not play an ordinary YouTube playlist. Start by checking that your Restream account has playlist access, the videos are in the scheduled playlist, YouTube is enabled as a destination, and the right YouTube event is attached. If YouTube auto-start is off, you must also click Go Live on YouTube after Restream starts sending the stream.
Check playlist access and limits
Restream’s Help Center says playlist access requires the Marathon or Media Upload & Stream add-on. It lists a maximum playlist duration of 24 hours and a maximum of 40 videos. If you do not see the playlist option, first check whether your account includes one of those tiers. Confirm the videos and schedule
In Restream, select Pre-recorded livestream, then Playlist. Choose the uploaded videos you want, arrange them in the intended order, preview the playlist, and schedule it. Check that the intended files are present and that the playlist has actually been scheduled.
Restream says you can add, remove, or rearrange files only before the playlist goes live. If the wrong videos or order appear after it has started, changes to the playlist contents may no longer be available for that broadcast.

Make sure YouTube is enabled for the event
When creating a Restream event, check that YouTube is toggled on as a destination before you create or schedule the event. Restream’s YouTube event instructions cover video files and playlists: Restream’s YouTube streaming guide. A playlist can be correctly set up in Restream and still fail to reach YouTube if YouTube was not selected for that event.
If you attached an existing YouTube event
If you are using an event already created in YouTube rather than having Restream create one, confirm that Restream is connected to the intended event. Edit the YouTube channel settings for the scheduled event and choose the correct event in the Event dropdown. A different or unselected event association can send the stream to the wrong destination setup.

Also check YouTube’s auto-start setting. Restream says that when auto-start is disabled, you need to click Go Live on YouTube after Restream begins streaming. In that case, seeing the stream start from Restream does not by itself mean the YouTube event has gone live. See Restream’s scheduled YouTube event instructions.
Check YouTube live-streaming eligibility and the channel connection
Verify that live streaming is enabled for the YouTube channel and that the YouTube channel connection in Restream is still valid. If reconnecting is appropriate, Restream’s general YouTube startup troubleshooting advises removing and re-adding the YouTube channel and resetting the stream key. Follow the current account prompts carefully when doing this, since the key must match the event and destination you intend to stream to.

There is one event type to rule out: Restream says YouTube events created through the YouTube mobile app are locked to mobile streaming and are not supported through Restream. If your event was created in the mobile app, create or use a supported event instead. Details are in Restream’s YouTube startup troubleshooting article, dated March 9, 2026.
Isolate whether the problem is Restream or YouTube
If the playlist, destination, event association, auto-start, eligibility, and connection checks do not resolve the problem, try a direct YouTube stream as a diagnostic. Restream recommends contacting YouTube if that direct test also fails. Its troubleshooting page addresses YouTube startup issues generally, so it does not establish that every suggested step applies to every prerecorded-playlist failure.
