Why did she stop hosting?
On February 2, 2026, Clarkson announced that season seven would be her last as host. She said that stepping away from the daily schedule would let her prioritize her children: “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.” NBC confirmed the program would conclude after that season, as reported by NBC New York and ABC News.
That explanation applies to her decision to leave daily hosting after season seven. It should not be treated as her confirmed explanation for the distinct 2025 absence.
