She required surgery and was out of the ring for nine months—but she returned in May 2025, so the question is about that earlier layoff, not a confirmed ongoing absence.
Why was Skye Blue absent from AEW?
Blue injured her ankle in July 2024 and needed surgery. A Wrestling Inc. report published June 7, 2026, recounting her comments in an interview with TMZ, says the injury kept her out of the ring for nine months.
Blue described the uncertainty she felt soon after surgery: “I was like, ‘This is insane. How am I going to go back to flipping and running and twisting and turning and all the crazy things we have to put our bodies through?’” Wrestling Inc. transcribed the remark from her TMZ interview; she was talking about whether she could return to wrestling’s physical demands.
When did Skye Blue return?
Wrestling Inc. reports that Blue returned to the ring in May 2025. It also describes her later association with Julia Hart and Thekla as the Triangle of Madness. The nine-month absence, therefore, was a recovery period following surgery—not evidence that she remains out of AEW.

What later AEW activity is documented?
On June 9, 2026, POST Wrestling listed Blue for a scheduled Owen Hart Foundation tournament match against Sareee. The preview’s injury contingency concerned Sareee’s neck, not a new injury to Blue. A preview establishes that the match was scheduled; it does not by itself establish the result.
AEW’s official roster profile lists Blue, though it provides little biography and no dated appearance history. A July 24, 2026 TV Insider interview also refers to her as an AEW star and Kyle Fletcher’s partner. Those sources support her continued association with AEW, but they do not provide a complete record of her matches or explain every gap between appearances.

What is not known about later gaps?
The available reporting explains the extended 2024–25 absence: Blue’s ankle injury required surgery and kept her out of the ring for nine months. It does not establish why she may have had any later gaps in appearances. There is no basis here to attribute a later absence to another injury, a contract issue, backstage circumstances, or a booking decision.
