Rapper GloRilla, whose legal name is Gloria Woods, was charged in Georgia in July 2025 after investigators reportedly found marijuana during a search connected to a burglary at her home. She turned herself in and was released the same day on a $22,260 bond. The reports describe charges and allegations, not a conviction.
What happened at GloRilla’s home?
Forsyth County deputies were called to Woods’s home at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, while she was away in Indianapolis. Authorities said the burglary investigation led deputies to notice a strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics. A drug task force obtained a search warrant, and marijuana was reportedly found in plain view in the master bedroom closet. The search was connected to the burglary response; reports do not say the drug investigation prompted the initial call.
What was GloRilla charged with, and what was reportedly found?
Woods turned herself in to Forsyth County authorities in July 2025 and was charged with felony marijuana possession and possession of a controlled substance, according to the AP and AJC. The AJC’s account of the arrest warrant alleged that she possessed just over 2.8 pounds of marijuana and two jars containing THC wax. Those quantities are allegations described in warrant reporting, not an independent determination of guilt.

Woods was released the same day on a $22,260 bond. The reports cited here do not establish the later court disposition of the charges.
How did GloRilla and authorities describe the case?
Woods criticized the attention paid to cannabis while the people suspected of burglarizing the home remained at large. Her attorneys, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, said the family had been traumatized and jewelry had been stolen, and argued that authorities had shifted focus away from the home invasion. These were statements by Woods and her counsel.

Sheriff Ron Freeman acknowledged Woods’s position as a burglary victim, saying, “The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice.” He also said the law had to be enforced “in all aspects of this case.” The contrasting statements reflect the dispute over investigative priorities; they do not establish the eventual outcome of either investigation.
Were the burglars caught, and what happened to the cases?
In the July 2025 reports, the burglary investigation was ongoing and the suspects had not been located. The AP reported that detectives recovered physical and trace forensic evidence believed to belong to the suspects. The sources cited in those reports do not establish what happened later in the burglary investigation or in Woods’s drug case, so the July 2025 status should not be treated as a current update.

The Washington Post reported in July 2025 that possessing more than an ounce of marijuana was considered a felony in Forsyth County and described a possible one-to-ten-year prison term if convicted. That is contemporaneous legal context from the report, not current legal advice or a prediction about Woods’s case. The charges remain allegations unless resolved by a court.
