GirlsDoPorn was reported offline in January 2020, shortly after a civil verdict of about $12.7 million—often rounded to $13 million—against the site’s operators. That civil award was separate from the federal criminal prosecution announced in 2019, which later led to guilty pleas, prison sentences, and a distinct restitution and victim-rights order. The cited reporting establishes the site’s apparent disappearance at that time, not its current domain status.

Why did GirlsDoPorn go offline?

On January 16, 2020, Ars Technica reported that GirlsDoPorn had disappeared from the web sometime the previous week, following a civil verdict involving 22 women. The verdict was widely reported as approximately $12.7 million, rounded to $13 million in headlines. The report establishes when the site was observed to have gone offline; it does not establish the precise reason for its disappearance or whether the domain remains offline today. Ars Technica’s January 2020 report also said clips remained available on other adult sites at that time, but it does not establish their current availability.

What was the $13 million judgment?

The approximately $12.7 million award was a civil judgment arising from a lawsuit brought by 22 women. It was a remedy in that civil case, not a fine or sentence imposed in the later federal criminal prosecution. The headline figure of $13 million is a rounded description of the civil award, as reported by Ars Technica in 2020.

What happened in the federal criminal case?

Charges announced in 2019

In October 2019, federal prosecutors announced charges against the website’s owners and employees. The Justice Department said the indictment alleged that women were recruited through false modeling-job representations and assurances that their videos would not be posted online. At the time, these were allegations, not findings of guilt: the DOJ stated that criminal charges and allegations are accusations unless and until proven. The DOJ’s October 10, 2019 announcement contains that qualification.

Guilty pleas and sentencing

The case later produced guilty pleas and prison sentences. Michael Pratt pleaded guilty on June 5, 2025, and was sentenced to 27 years in prison on September 8, 2025, according to the Justice Department. At sentencing, U.S. District Judge Janis L. Sammartino described the case as unprecedented in its magnitude. The DOJ’s Pratt sentencing release documents the plea and sentence.

On January 30, 2026, the DOJ reported that Douglas Wiederhold was the last of seven charged defendants to be sentenced; he received four years in prison. That release also lists Valorie Moser’s sentence as two years, imposed on December 12, 2025. The DOJ’s January 30, 2026 release provides the sentencing details.

How did the 2021 victim-rights order differ?

In December 2021, a federal order addressed victims’ rights in GirlsDoPorn and GirlsDoToys images and videos. The Justice Department said the order voided purported model releases and transfers and required Ruben Garcia to pay approximately $18 million in restitution. This was a separate federal criminal-case development—not the approximately $12.7 million civil judgment reported in 2020. The DOJ’s December 2021 release describes the order.

What is known about the site and videos now?

The available reporting supports a limited conclusion: GirlsDoPorn was reported to have disappeared from the web in January 2020, and clips were reported on other adult sites at that time. The cited material does not verify whether the domain is online in 2026 or whether copies of the videos remain accessible. The civil judgment, federal restitution order, and criminal sentences are distinct legal outcomes; none of those figures or sentences, by itself, establishes the current status of the website or copies.
