Elizabeth Dulau makes Kleya Marki a standout in Andor season 2 not by making her the loudest person in the room, but by showing how much she is managing while pretending to be at ease. The episode 6 party scene is the clearest case: Kleya works to remove a listening device, appears to flirt with Lonni, keeps him from exposing the operation, and stays alert to everyone around them. Calling her the season’s “secret MVP” is a critical judgment, but this scene makes the case.
Why the episode 6 party scene makes the case
In a May 5, 2025 interview with Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross, syndicated by Yahoo News Malaysia, Dulau described the scene as technically demanding because Kleya has several objectives at once. She must deal with the hidden device, maintain the appearance of flirting with Lonni, prevent him from drawing attention to the operation, and keep track of the other people in the room.
Dulau and director Ariel Kleiman approached that complexity by choosing what Kleya would foreground at each moment. Rather than trying to communicate every objective at full force simultaneously, Dulau shifted her attention as the scene developed. That makes the performance legible without making Kleya’s cover feel effortless or simple.
How Dulau prepared for the layered performance
Dulau said she read the scene well ahead of filming and wanted to know the lines early. As she put it, “I need to be off-book so early so that on the day I am not thinking about the lines.” The preparation gave her room to concentrate on the physical action, Lonni, and the activity around them instead of recalling dialogue.

She also had to imagine the other performers during her shots. According to Dulau, she was filmed after the other coverage, and the actors were unavailable when her portion was shot, so a crew member stood in to give her an eyeline. She recalled that a COVID-related delay contributed to the timing. These are details from her account of the shoot, rather than a broader production chronology.
The brooch that becomes a key
The tool Kleya uses is a prop brooch that flips into a key. Dulau said the production initially considered hiding the tool under a glove, but the brooch became a last-minute solution. It was delicate, so she had to perform the extraction as if it were difficult to turn, helping avoid damage while keeping the action plausible. It is a small production detail that also gives the scene a tactile problem for Kleya to solve.

How Elizabeth Dulau came to play Kleya
Creator Tony Gilroy said two actors attached to the role had to leave for larger jobs, after which casting director Nina Gold put Dulau forward. Gilroy praised her audition and performance, saying, “We do not have one bad minute of film on her anywhere.” That is Gilroy’s assessment of Dulau’s work, not an independently measurable ranking; the episode 6 scene offers a specific reason viewers may share his enthusiasm.
