If only you have the problem, check your device and connection; if you are broadcasting, check YouTube Live Control Room, your encoder, and available upload bandwidth. The fact that you are in India does not by itself identify an India-specific cause.
First identify what is stopping
“Stopping” can mean different things: playback may pause to buffer, the YouTube app may close, or a broadcast may end for viewers. These symptoms point to different parts of the setup. Note which one you see, whether it happens on one device or several, and whether other viewers report it too.
- Only you are affected: start with your device and internet connection.
- Several viewers on the same Wi-Fi or other shared network are affected: investigate that network and its capacity.
- Viewers on different connections are affected, or the broadcast ends for everyone: the stream, encoder, or broadcaster’s connection deserves attention.
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance uses these viewer and network comparisons to help separate playback problems from broadcast problems. Without details such as your city, provider, device, connection type, and who else is affected, it is not possible to identify a particular Indian ISP or regional outage as the cause.
If you are watching someone else’s meditation stream
Use these checks in order. After each change, replay the stream long enough to see whether the symptom returns.

- Try another supported device. Open the same stream on another phone, computer, or TV if available. If it works there, focus on the original device or app.
- Switch connections. On Wi-Fi, try mobile data; on mobile data, try Wi-Fi. If the stream works on one but not the other, the connection you switched away from is a useful lead. Streaming over mobile data may use a substantial amount of your plan allowance.
- Check whether other video plays normally. Try another YouTube live stream and an ordinary YouTube video. If these also stop on the same device and connection, the issue is less likely to be unique to that meditation broadcast. This comparison is a clue, not proof of a cause.
- If you use the YouTube app, clear its cache. Then reopen YouTube and test again. YouTube also suggests restarting or updating the device as general playback troubleshooting steps.
- If playback is on a TV, try a lower playback quality. If that helps, the connection or device may be struggling with the selected playback quality. This changes what your device receives; it does not repair the broadcaster’s stream.
Use the pattern to narrow it down
- If another person on the same network can watch the same stream without interruption, compare devices and app behavior before blaming the shared connection.
- If multiple people on that network have trouble, test another connection and consider whether the network is busy or has limited capacity.
- If only this one stream fails while other videos and live streams play, tell the broadcaster; they may need to check the broadcast itself.
If you are broadcasting the meditation stream
Start by asking affected viewers whether they share a connection. One viewer’s report points first toward that viewer’s device or internet connection. Reports from several viewers on one network suggest a shared-network issue. Reports from viewers on different connections can point toward the encoder or the stream. These are diagnostic clues, not a definitive diagnosis.
Check YouTube’s stream health and messages
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room for the broadcast.
- Review the stream status, health indicators, and any specific error messages while the stream is running.
- If the dashboard reports a configuration or input problem, address the named issue and test again before the next session.
YouTube’s live-stream metrics include stream health and messages that can help distinguish a broadcaster-side problem from an individual viewer’s playback issue. Keep an eye on them during the stream, not only after someone reports a stoppage.

Make sure upload capacity can sustain the stream
For a broadcast, upload bandwidth matters; a speed test’s download result does not establish that the stream has enough outbound capacity. YouTube says the stream’s total bitrate should fit the available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. That is YouTube’s recommendation, not a measured threshold for Indian connections. Other devices or users sharing the same connection can also reduce the capacity available to the encoder.
Test the connection under conditions similar to the actual broadcast, including any shared network use. If the upload capacity fluctuates or the stream is using nearly all of it, reduce the encoder’s bitrate or improve the connection before going live. YouTube warns that a connectivity disruption can break a stream.

Match encoder settings to the output you need
There is no single correct bitrate for every meditation stream. YouTube’s recommended encoder settings vary with resolution, frame rate, and codec. Check its current recommendations for the exact combination you plan to use instead of applying one bitrate to every setup. Test before the event and monitor stream health while live.
If YouTube reports insufficient video input or keyframes that are not sent often enough, treat those messages as configuration leads. Google’s live-stream configuration documentation identifies these conditions among issues that can result in buffering or poor stream health. Check the encoder’s output and its settings against the message rather than repeatedly restarting without changing anything.

Consider the latency setting
Latency controls how close viewers’ playback is to the live moment. YouTube cautions that lower latency may mean more playback buffering. A meditation session often does not require immediate audience interaction, so if you do not need near-real-time chat or responses, compare the available latency setting with your needs and test a less aggressive setting. This is one possible contributor, not a guaranteed fix.

YouTube’s general troubleshooting guidance supports checking devices, connections, shared networks, stream health, and encoder settings. It does not establish a general India-wide cause for meditation streams stopping, nor does the symptom alone identify a particular city, mobile operator, ISP, restriction, or current outage. To investigate a location-specific problem, collect the city or region, provider, device and app, Wi-Fi or mobile connection, exact symptom, and whether viewers on other networks are affected.
