Eileen Davidson said she left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after Season 7 because her demanding schedules on The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives made stepping away best for her and her family. Later, she also described the show as high-anxiety and said she needed distance to decompress. Those comments add context, but they do not establish that she was fired or pushed out.
What reason did Eileen Davidson give for leaving RHOBH?
In a statement published by Bravo on July 7, 2017, Davidson said she would not return, citing her work on two daytime dramas and her family priorities. “After a lot of careful thought, I’ve decided because of my crazy schedules at The Young and The Restless, as well as Days of Our Lives, it’s best for me and my family if I step away from being a Housewife for now.” Bravo reported her announcement as she exited the series.

That is the clearest first-person explanation available: a workload decision, framed as what was best for her and her family. TV Guide reported the same announcement on the day it was made, corroborating the public explanation but not revealing private production discussions. TV Guide’s July 7, 2017 report also notes that she joined in Season 5.
When did she leave the show?
Davidson joined RHOBH in Season 5 and appeared across Seasons 5, 6, and 7. Season 7 was her third and final full season; she announced before Season 8 that she would step away. In an April 2018 interview, she told Entertainment Tonight she had walked away after Season 7 to focus on acting while filming both soap operas. Entertainment Tonight’s interview provides that later account.

What did she say later about the experience?
She wanted distance to decompress
In 2018, Davidson said she needed “to get my distance from it and kind of decompress.” She also said she had been texting some of the women. The interview reported that she made a cameo in Season 8, although she had not watched that scene or the season. These remarks describe how she processed the experience after leaving; they do not replace or contradict her stated reason of work and family priorities.
She described the show as high-anxiety
In a 2019 Bravo interview, Davidson said she had enjoyed aspects of the show, but that “it’s high anxiety. The anxiety level is very, very high — No rules — it’s like the wild, wild west of women.” Her comments to Bravo offer useful context for why she valued time away, but they are a later reflection rather than evidence of a hidden departure cause.

Was Eileen Davidson fired or pushed out?
The cited public accounts do not establish that Davidson was fired, demoted, or secretly pushed out. Bravo published her own announcement that she was stepping away, and her later interviews describe a demanding work schedule, a need to decompress, and the show’s anxiety level. None of those sources discloses private casting negotiations or a different definitive motive. Claims of a concealed firing should therefore be treated as unverified, not as fact.

In 2019, when asked whether she would do the show again, Davidson said, “I might pop in now and then. You never say never.” That was openness to an occasional appearance at that time, not a promise to return as a full-time cast member.
