His criticism, as reported in November 2025, was aimed at stories and commentary circulating around the show—not a claim that he experienced a toxic workplace in the studio.
What Corey Feldman said was toxic
Feldman competed on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars with professional dancer Jenna Johnson. In remarks previewed for the radio program Gurvey’s Law, he described “a lot of stupidity in the mudslinging that went on behind the scenes,” then clarified: “Actually there, everything was great. On the set everybody gets along.”

He used “toxic” for the surrounding drama and reports he had read, including stories suggesting one cast member was angry with another and claims that he had been difficult to work with. The distinction matters: his comments criticized the public narrative around the competition, while his description of the studio itself was positive.
TheWrap and Parade reported the remarks from a preview of Feldman’s Gurvey’s Law appearance obtained by the Daily Mail; their coverage was not a review of the full interview recording. TheWrap’s account and Parade’s account attribute the comments to Feldman.

How the dispute involved Jenna Johnson
The reports placed Feldman’s remarks in the context of former DWTS professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s public comments that Johnson was having a difficult time working with Feldman. Feldman said Johnson dismissed Chmerkovskiy’s comments as an attempt to get attention. These are attributed accounts; the coverage does not independently establish what happened during rehearsals.
Johnson’s own public message to Feldman was appreciative. In an Instagram message reproduced by TheWrap, she thanked him for the laughter in rehearsal, his hard work, and the memories he shared, adding that she would cherish their friendship. Feldman, in turn, called Johnson a joy to work with and objected to what he described as a false negative media narrative about their partnership. Their public comments do not support presenting the pair as having described their relationship as hostile.

How other former participants responded
Several former contestants and dancers pushed back on Feldman’s broad description by sharing positive experiences of their own. Parade reported responses from Val Chmerkovskiy, Sharna Burgess, Lele Pons, Amy Purdy, Mauricio Umansky, and Lindsey Stirling. Stirling described her time on the show as a “dream experience” and praised the people she worked with, from producers and the makeup team to camera operators and dancers.
Those responses are personal accounts, not a comprehensive survey of the cast or crew, and they do not disprove Feldman’s account of the outside commentary he encountered. PopCulture also reported that Val Chmerkovskiy reacted with emojis to a PEOPLE social-media post about Feldman’s remarks. Neither the responses nor Feldman’s comments establish a measured verdict on working conditions across the production.

Us Weekly reported that Feldman and Johnson were eliminated in the second episode of season 34, alongside Baron Davis and professional partner Britt Stewart. The outlet reported a combined score of 24 out of 50 and called it the season’s first double elimination. These are episode-specific results, not evidence about the show’s workplace culture.
