POPLine reported the exchange took place on May 29, 2025, at a The Hollywood Reporter En Español event; the report does not establish why he left.
What happened at the interview
In an account published May 30, 2025, POPLine said the question was whether Chávez was still not speaking with Anahí. The outlet reported that he smiled, turned away, waved, said “amo vocês” (“I love you all”), and left the interview. These details are POPLine’s account; its article links to a Hoy Día video, but the full video exchange has not been independently verified here. Read POPLine’s report.
POPLINE also reported that Chávez had remarked beforehand that some approaches can make people uncomfortable, while journalists have a job to report and artists can feel uncomfortable too. The outlet presents this as reported speech, not a verified transcript of the complete exchange.
What the earlier dispute does—and does not—explain
In June 2024, Telemundo covered a dispute between Anahí and Chávez involving allegations of misappropriation connected to RBD’s reunion tour, and reported that Anahí confronted him over his statements. That is earlier context, not proof that the dispute prompted his 2025 departure or evidence of his private motivation. Read Telemundo’s 2024 coverage.

What remains unknown
The 2025 report does not establish whether Chávez and Anahí were still out of contact, or what he intended by leaving. The careful conclusion is limited to the sequence POPLine described: he was asked about their communication and then left.
