CBS moved the reboot of Hollywood Squares back one week because of the Los Angeles-area wildfires, according to a contemporaneous Forbes report. The premiere, originally scheduled for January 9, 2025, was rescheduled for Thursday, January 16, at 8 p.m. ET.

Forbes reported on January 9, 2025, that CBS postponed the premiere amid ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area. The report attributed the scheduling change to the fires; CBS’s original schedule announcement had listed the show for January 2025 but did not give that explanation.
When was Hollywood Squares supposed to premiere?
CBS’s May 2, 2024, primetime schedule announcement placed Hollywood Squares in its January 2025 lineup. The premiere was subsequently set for Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. CBS moved it to the same time the following Thursday, January 16, according to Forbes’s January 9 report.

- January 9, 2025: Original premiere date. Forbes reported that repeats of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Ghosts were scheduled to fill the vacated 8 p.m. hour.
- January 16, 2025: Rescheduled premiere at 8 p.m. ET.
- January 29, 2025: The show was scheduled to begin its regular Wednesday 10 p.m. ET slot.
The January 9 replacement programs are the schedule reported at the time, not confirmation of what ultimately aired.
