In July 2021, reports said Camila Cabello was accused online of copying the cover design for her upcoming single “Don’t Go Yet,” with critics comparing it to artwork for Caroline Polachek’s album Pang. The reports document an accusation—not proof that copying occurred.
What was the accusation?
On July 16, 2021, Brazilian pop-culture outlet Popline reported that Cabello had been accused of copying the design of the “Don’t Go Yet” single cover, naming Caroline Polachek’s Pang artwork as the comparison. Polish entertainment site ESKA.pl published a same-day report describing it as a repeat accusation. Both accounts framed the matter as criticism circulating on social media. Popline’s report and ESKA.pl’s report are secondary coverage.

Did Camila Cabello copy Caroline Polachek’s cover?
The available reporting does not establish that she did. It records the accusation and the comparison, but does not provide enough detail to assess the specific visual similarities or determine whether copying took place. It also does not establish who created the respective artwork, a direct response from Cabello or Polachek, or any legal proceeding. An accusation reported online should not be treated as a finding of fact.
A reliable visual assessment would require examining the original cover images and identifying the elements being compared—such as composition, color palette, subject, and typography—alongside the artwork credits and release context. The contemporaneous reports cited above do not document those details sufficiently to support an independent conclusion.

How this differs from the later Brat comparison
A separate story in 2024 concerned a blue vinyl variant of Cabello’s album C, XOXO, which some fans said resembled the lime-green, low-resolution type treatment on Charli XCX’s Brat cover. That was a different accusation about an album variant and different artwork; it was not the 2021 “Don’t Go Yet” single-cover story. Music Times covered the 2024 comparison.
