Why did Vince die in the Season 4 premiere?
Vince’s death is the character’s on-screen outcome; the explanation on record is about the writers’ story decision, not Burke’s private reasons. In an interview published October 18, 2025, showrunner Tia Napolitano said the writers had long considered the risks firefighters face and felt Season 4 was the right time to explore those risks and the consequences of losing Vince.

Why did Stephanie Arcila leave as Gabriela?
Arcila said producers described Gabriela’s departure as a creative decision on their end. In an interview published April 28, 2025, she also said she learned she would not return as a series regular on the day Season 4 was ordered.
