The venue’s owner cited heightened threats, media attention and civil disorder; ticket holders were reportedly offered refunds. The cancellation applied to those six shows at one venue—not to Bankas’s entire tour.
What did Ben Bankas say about Renee Good?
The jokes were reported from Bankas’s January 9–10, 2026, performances at Laugh It Up Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie, New York. One reported line, attributed to Bankas, was: “Her last name was Good. That’s what I said after they shot her.” PinkNews reported on the jokes. That line is a reported excerpt, not a complete transcript of the set.
Why were the Minnesota shows canceled?
Laugh Camp owner Bill Collins, as quoted by PinkNews, cited “heightened threats, increasing media attention and civil disorder” in explaining the decision. That is the venue’s reported rationale; the quoted account does not independently establish the nature or extent of every threat or operational concern. PinkNews’s report on the cancellation also said ticket holders were offered refunds.
Bankas criticized the cancellation and suggested the venue had reacted to a complaint. That was his characterization of the venue’s motive, not an independently established explanation. In a February 20 interview, he said: “The cancellation was one venue where we were going to do six shows, no one else canceled in America.” That statement reflects his account at the time; subsequent event changes were reported elsewhere.

Did the Minnesota shows get rescheduled?
The available reporting establishes that the six St. Paul dates were canceled, not that they were rescheduled. The refund reporting came from PinkNews; it does not establish that replacement dates were offered.
What happened to Bankas’s later shows?
A separate pair of shows scheduled for March 7, 2026, in Kitchener, Ontario, was relocated from the city-owned Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts to Elements Nightclub. CityNews Kitchener reported that Bankas’s team attributed the move to “overwhelming fan response,” and that the city confirmed the relocation and said ticket purchasers were notified. This was a move to another venue, not a cancellation. CityNews Kitchener’s report
