Shaq Brown won Channel 4’s 2025 Hunted Series 8, reaching extraction at Folkestone after his teammate and brother-in-law Warren George was caught. In an interview with Tech Advisor, Brown described how a reliance on familiar contacts nearly exposed them, and how persistence, help from strangers and refusing to settle after close calls shaped the rest of his run.
Who won Hunted Series 8?
Shaq Brown was the sole fugitive to win the full £100,000 prize by reaching the extraction point. He competed alongside his brother-in-law, Warren George. Channel 4’s Series 8 press pack describes the 2025 competition as lasting 21 days and lists a £100,000 prize pool.
Those figures describe the programme’s competition, not evidence about real-world surveillance or how reliably any tactic works outside the show.
How did Shaq avoid being caught?
He changed course after the pair were traced
Brown and George escaped Stansted Airport, then travelled from London towards Kent. According to Brown’s account to Tech Advisor, their early reliance on their home network gave the Hunters a lead. The feature says the Hunters used phone and social-media information as well as local inquiries. George was caught while hunters were close behind; Brown escaped two near captures and adjusted his approach.

He kept moving and accepted help
Brown said he relied on strangers for transport, food, connections and places to stay, and kept trying after people refused to help. He described that persistence as necessary: “you have to be willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone at points where you don’t want to, and also when you get turned down by no help, you keep on pushing.” That is his reflection on a television competition, not a guarantee that strangers will help or that the approach will work in another setting.
He endured an uncomfortable hiding place
One of the run’s starkest moments came in a pub kitchen in Ashford, where Brown hid while a hunter searched nearby. He told Tech Advisor, “I was just in that corner for about 45 minutes.” The episode illustrates the waiting and discomfort he recalled; it does not establish a general method for evading capture.

He took a risk, then avoided getting comfortable
Later, Brown accepted a dead-drop challenge in Birmingham and shaved his beard to change his appearance. Tech Advisor reports that he reached the location and collected £10,000. After travelling to the Lake District, he booked two taxis from his hotel under a false name and left before a hunter arrived. Brown recalled thinking, “Do not do that, getting comfortable.” He eventually reached the extraction point at Folkestone.
What happened to Warren George?
George was caught after the pair’s route from London towards Kent drew hunters close. Brown continued alone and later said he would not have returned to his London network during the run except to collect extraction details: “I would have never gone home.” This is Brown’s account of his decisions in the competition, not an independently verified account of the Hunters’ capabilities.
