The elimination was not determined by the judges’ scoreboard alone. Forbes’ recap reports that the result combined judges’ scores with viewer votes. Audience vote totals were not published, so the available coverage does not establish how the vote distribution produced the final result.
After the announcement, Leavitt said: “This show has meant the absolute world for me. It’s changed my life, and I will forever be so grateful for the friendships I’ve made and for this experience. Thank you so much.”

Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas’s semifinal scores
| Dance | Score |
|---|---|
| Cha Cha | 29/30 |
| Viennese Waltz | 29/30 |
| Combined judges’ score | 58/60 |
Derek Hough praised their Cha Cha by saying, “That was literal perfection,” according to Forbes’ 2025 recap. Despite that strong score, their 58 was tied with Earle and Chmerkovskiy rather than being the top total, and the reported viewer-vote component determined who advanced.

Why the judges’ ranking did not decide the result by itself
Leavitt and Ballas were tied for second on judges’ points with Earle and Chmerkovskiy. Robert Irwin and Witney Carson led the judges with 59/60, while Hendrix and Bersten and Chiles and Sosa each scored 57/60. The reported elimination therefore cannot be explained by saying Leavitt had the lowest judges’ score. The published recaps identify the combined judges-and-viewer-vote result, but they do not provide the audience totals.
A score discrepancy involving Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach
Forbes and Just Jared list Efron and Karagach’s Cha Cha at 28/30 and their combined total at 55/60. Parade’s 2025 recap instead reports 29 for that second dance and a 56-point total. Because those published figures conflict, the table follows the Forbes and Just Jared totals and flags the discrepancy rather than presenting Parade’s number as settled fact.
