What the cast said before the finale
In interviews conducted in Panama, cast members told Entertainment Weekly, in a feature republished by Yahoo Entertainment on March 24, 2025, which finalist they wanted to win the final excursion and face the Banker. The finale was scheduled to air on NBC the following day, March 25, 2025. Those dates are historical context; they are not a current viewing listing.

Cast members backing David Genat
- Parvati Shallow rooted for David, calling him her partner from the start: “David has been my partner in this game from the first second the game began and I am rooting for David.”
- Dickson Wong was mostly neutral between the finalists, but chose David because they had worked together and David had acted as a father figure to him in the game.
- La Shell Wooten said they had been bunkmates and valued David’s consistency.
- Dr. Will Kirby praised David’s strength and gameplay, though he remained undecided overall.
Cast members backing Alexis Lete
- Phillip Solomon said Alexis had worked hard and deserved the opportunity.
- Seychelle Cordero pointed to their friendship and personal connection.
- Storm Wilson said Alexis had been in his original alliance and praised her game and athleticism.
- Sydnee Peck described her as dynamic and athletic.
- Luke Olejniczak praised her confidence and respectful conduct.
Open or mixed preferences
- Maria-Grace Cook said she would accept either finalist as the winner.
- Rock Carlson leaned toward Alexis after her performance in a competition, while also weighing David’s experience.
Why the interviewed cast members chose sides
The reasons were specific to relationships and events in the game. Support for David often came from working together, trust and loyalty built during the season, alongside praise for his strength and gameplay. Support for Alexis drew on friendship, alliance ties, her work in the game, and opinions about her athleticism, confidence and conduct.
These comments capture the views of the people interviewed for the feature. They do not establish how the entire cast felt, and they should not be read as an objective ranking of either finalist’s chances.
