Vin Diesel is the highest-paid name in the per-film reporting available: the Wall Street Journal reported in 2025 that he makes more than $25 million per film. Earlier reports put his fee at $20 million for Fast X (2023), while reported pay for other Fast X cast members ranged from $1 million to $15 million. These are media-reported figures, not publicly confirmed contract disclosures.
Reported pay for the Fast X cast
For the clearest like-for-like comparison among several stars in one film, El Comercio reported the following salaries for Fast X (2023), attributing Diesel’s figure to Variety. The figures should be read as reported pay, not verified contract amounts.

| Michelle Rodriguez | $2.5 million | El Comercio, 2023 |
| John Cena | $2 million | El Comercio, 2023 |
| Brie Larson | $1 million | El Comercio, 2023 |
Within that reported Fast X list, Diesel’s figure is the largest. Statham is next at $15 million. The list is not a complete accounting of every cast member’s compensation.
How Diesel’s reported fee changed across the franchise
Reports show a substantial increase between the original film and later installments, but the first-film figure is disputed and the later figures come from different reporting years.
#1 Best Overall
| Film or period | Reported figure | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| The Fast and the Furious (2001) | $1 million | Reported by the Los Angeles Times in 2002 |
| The Fast and the Furious (2001) | $2 million | El Comercio reported this in 2023, citing Variety; it conflicts with the Los Angeles Times figure |
| The Fate of the Furious (2017) | $20 million | ComicBook.com reported the figure in 2018, attributing it to Variety |
| Fast X (2023) | $20 million | El Comercio reported the figure in 2023, attributing it to Variety |
| Current per-film fee, as described in 2025 | More than $25 million | Wall Street Journal report based on a person familiar with the matter |
The $1 million and $2 million accounts for the 2001 film cannot be reconciled from the cited reporting: no public contract or studio disclosure establishes which is correct. Treat both as reported claims rather than a settled figure.
What the newer salary report says about the ensemble
The 2025 Wall Street Journal account says Diesel now makes more than $25 million per film and that ensemble cast members earn between $2 million and $10 million. The report attributes the compensation information to people familiar with it. That range concerns a later reporting period and a broad ensemble category; it is not a revised salary list for Fast X.
Because the report describes compensation at a later point than the 2023 Fast X figures, Diesel’s reported fee above $25 million does not contradict the earlier $20 million figure. They refer to different reporting periods, and neither is a public contract disclosure.
Why annual earnings are not the same as a movie salary
Forbes’ 2015 highest-paid actors list put Diesel’s annual earnings at $47 million, as reported by TIME. That is an earnings figure over a period, not what he was paid for one Fast & Furious movie. Annual rankings can include income beyond a single film, so they should not be compared directly with per-film fees.

What can—and cannot—be concluded
- Diesel is the highest-paid actor in the per-film figures cited here, including the reported $20 million for Fast X and the later report of more than $25 million per film.
- The available reports do not establish a complete franchise-wide salary ledger or cumulative totals for every actor.
- Salary figures should remain attributed to the outlet or source describing them; the cited reports do not provide public contracts confirming the amounts.
