Justin Eely’s role on One Day
Company 3’s project credits list Eely as the series’ “Finishing Editor.” That is a post-production credit, not an acting, directing or principal story-editing role.

What a finishing editor does
Finishing, also described as online editing, is a late technical stage of post-production. Radio Times characterizes it as work that helps make a project transmission-ready; Glamour also describes finishing editors as working on the final production stage. The title identifies Eely’s credited function, rather than implying he shaped the story in the same way as a series’ principal picture editor.
What the finale dedication says
Radio Times reports that the closing card reads “In loving memory of Justin Eely.” The dedication indicates that the production chose to honor him; it does not, by itself, explain the circumstances behind the tribute.
