News reports said he traveled with Lopez to Dubai for work shortly before his death on February 22, 2025. Those reports establish the trip as part of his work, not as a cause of his death.
Who was Jesus Guerrero?
Guerrero was a hairstylist from Houston who built a career working with high-profile clients. His sister Gris announced his death on behalf of the family. In a statement quoted by People en Español on February 23, she described him as “Born and raised in Houston, TX to immigrant parents” and said he learned to work hard and dreamed of taking his skills to the top.
The initial announcement described his passing as sudden and unexpected but did not give a cause. Coverage differs on his age: the initial People en Español report said 32, while later reports identified him as 34. The available accounts do not resolve that discrepancy.
Did Jesus Guerrero work with Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lopez?
Yes. Reports describe both Jenner and Lopez as clients. Jenner’s February 25, 2025 tribute, reproduced by Glamour, also made clear that their relationship extended beyond work: “Jesus was more than my friend—he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support.”

Those accounts support that the trip was work-related and close in time to his death; they do not establish a precise travel itinerary or connect the trip to his medical condition. People en Español later described additional work commitments in Ireland, England and Dubai, where it reported he died. That retrospective account does not provide a verified minute-by-minute chronology.
What was Jesus Guerrero’s cause of death?
In an update published June 2, 2025, People en Español attributed the cause-of-death information to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. It reported severe pneumonia, cryptococcosis neoformans and AIDS as a secondary cause, and said the death was classified as natural. The Independent also summarized the medical-examiner findings as severe pneumonia and cryptococcosis.

The family’s February announcement had not stated a cause, and People en Español’s March 31 funeral coverage said it had not been made public at that time. The June 2 update is therefore the relevant date for the later medical details; the reports do not support attributing his death to the Dubai trip.

People en Español reported that Guerrero’s funeral took place in Houston on March 30, 2025, and that Jenner and Lopez attended. The outlet also reported that Jenner offered financial help with funeral costs. In a June 2 update, it said a GoFundMe had received $96,000 in donations by March 2, 2025; that is a dated total reported by the outlet, not a current fundraising figure.
