Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik were eliminated from Dancing With the Stars on Halloween Night. They performed a contemporary routine to Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” and received 32 out of 40 from the judges during the Season 34 episode that aired Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
The elimination was not determined by judges’ scores alone. The night’s result also included bonus points from the Dance Monster-thon and viewer votes, which is why the couple with the lowest combined leaderboard total was not the couple sent home.
Who went home on Dancing With the Stars Halloween Night?
Jen Affleck and professional partner Jan Ravnik were eliminated during Season 34, Week 7, billed as Halloween Night. The episode was listed by ABC as Episode 7 and featured the return of the Dance Monster-thon along with former professional dancer Cheryl Burke as a guest judge.

They also earned two Dance Monster-thon bonus points, giving them a preliminary total of 34.

Halloween Night scores and leaderboard
The table below combines each couple’s first-round judges’ score with the bonus points earned during the Dance Monster-thon. It does not represent the complete elimination formula by itself, because viewer votes also contributed to the result.

Who had the highest score?
Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy had the night’s highest individual judges’ score: 39/40 for their tango to Billie Eilish’s “bury a friend.” Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough awarded 10s, while guest judge Cheryl Burke and Bruno Tonioli each gave the couple a 9.
After the Dance Monster-thon, Earle and Chmerkovskiy added four bonus points and finished first overall with 43. Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas actually won the marathon itself and received the maximum five bonus points, but their 37/40 jazz score left them second overall at 42.

How the Dance Monster-thon affected the results
The Dance Monster-thon had the remaining couples perform simultaneously in two styles: first a Hustle and then a Lindy Hop. The judges eliminated couples one by one, awarding more bonus points to pairs that stayed on the floor longer.
- Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas were the final couple standing and earned five bonus points.
- Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy finished second in the marathon and received four bonus points.
- Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach and Robert Irwin and Witney Carson each received three points.
- Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa received four points.
- Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov received two points.
- Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik received two points.
- Andy Richter and Emma Slater received one point.
- Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten received no marathon points because Hendrix could not take part in the live performance.
The bonus system changed the order substantially. Leavitt and Ballas won the marathon, but Earle and Chmerkovskiy led the overall leaderboard because their individual tango score was stronger.

Why were Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik eliminated?
The most accurate explanation is that Affleck and Ravnik had the elimination outcome after the show combined the judges’ scoring, Dance Monster-thon bonuses and viewer votes. Their 32/40 judges’ score was tied with Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten, but the two couples did not have the same circumstances: Hendrix could not participate in the marathon and therefore received no bonus points, while the audience vote also affected which couple advanced.
It would be incorrect to say that Affleck and Ravnik went home simply because they had the lowest judges’ score. Andy Richter and Emma Slater scored lower, with 28/40, and they remained in the competition. It is also too strong to claim that one specific criticism of Affleck’s contemporary routine was the verified cause of the elimination. Recap commentary can assess the performance, but the show’s result came from the broader scoring-and-voting process.

Elaine Hendrix’s injury and unusual scoring situation
Elaine Hendrix was not present for the live broadcast because she suffered an injury during rehearsal. The judges instead scored footage of her last full rehearsal with Alan Bersten. The couple received 32/40 for their Argentine tango to “Bad to the Bone.” Hendrix was cleared to continue if she survived the elimination, and she did.
Because Hendrix could not participate in the Dance Monster-thon, she received zero bonus points. Her resulting leaderboard total was 32, two points below Affleck and Ravnik’s 34. Nevertheless, the leaderboard was not a simple automatic elimination ranking: Andy Richter and Emma Slater were last at 29 and also survived, demonstrating the importance of viewer votes in the final outcome.

Cheryl Burke joined Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli on the judging panel for the Halloween episode. Burke is a former Dancing With the Stars professional and two-time Mirrorball champion. Her participation made the episode different from a standard three-judge night and supplied the fourth score used in each couple’s 40-point judges’ total.

One recap displayed Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov’s final total as 36. That number does not match the underlying figures: their judges’ score was 33/40 and their Dance Monster-thon bonus was two points. The arithmetically consistent total is therefore 35, as shown in the table above.
